This year, Eileen Gavin, MSN, FNP-BC, NJ-CSN was chosen by the Monmouth County School Nurses Association for the 2017 "School Nurse Who Makes a Difference”. Eileen is an exemplary School Nurse who takes on challenges that have made a difference in her county, state, and nationally. Eileen is known as the “Narcan Nurse” because she identified the trend of opioid addiction early in the epidemic and looked for live-saving solutions to this national crisis. Eileen used her NP knowledge and authority to write one of the first school protocols for Narcan use in NJ. |
